| Posted: 09 Dec 2012 09:26 PM PST  Official: Ford confirms 3.2L diesel five-cylinder for US-spec 2014 Transit Filed under: Minivan/Van, Work, Ford, Diesel To ensure that its new 2014 Ford Transit will be able to get the job done when it goes on sale in the US next year, Ford announced that its new work van will be offered with a diesel engine that balances power and fuel economy. The Transit is already on sale with the diesel in other markets, but Ford confirmed that the 3.2-liter I5 Power Stroke will mark the return of a diesel engine to its full-size van for the first time since the 6.0-liter Power Stroke V8 was phased out of the E-Series in 2010. Power ratings for the US-spec Transit Power Stroke have not been announced yet, but Ford says these engines in European versions of the van are rated at 197 horsepower and 347 pound-feet of torque - 90 percent of the engine's torque will be available between 1,700 rpm and 3,500 rpm. Although these figures are far less than the most recent Power Stroke in the E-Series rated at 235 hp and 440 lb-ft, this new engine is expected to be cleaner and more efficient. Ford expects the new Power Stroke to be able to run on B20 biodiesel fuel. The 3.2-liter Power Stroke will be built in South Africa and exported to the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant where the Transit will be built. In addition to the new diesel engine, the Transit will also be available with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, and all engines will be paired with six-speed automatic transmissions. Fiat actually partnered with Mercurio Cinematografica to wed a Panda 4x4 with a Jeep CJ7. The result is the plucky face of the Panda astride a set of 59-inch tractor tires. The whole contraption sits 12.8 feet tall and took just over two weeks to build from start to finish. We imagine driving this thing is a bit like trying to coax a jello mold down the road. There's no word on whether engineers kept the Panda's engine and transmission or abandoned them for the AMC bits. Our money's on the latter. Fiat says the hardest part was getting the brakes, steering, clutch and accelerator controls to cooperate with the archaic bones below. So, why build it? Fiat is currently in the midst of an advertising campaign that highlight's the Panda's attributes, and building a Big Foot version of the little hatchback was the easiest way to show off the vehicle's off-road prowess. Pero no, hay más cambios en el interior que lo sitúan en un escalón superior. En el vídeo que te dejamos tras el salto podrás ver con más detalle las novedades del modelo. Estrena consola central con los mismos mandos de climatización ya vistos en el nuevo Clio IV (si se opta por el sistema automático), nuevo emplazamiento para los elevalunas, mayor uso de detalles cromados, instrumentación similar a la que llevan los Fluence y apliques en negro lacado entre otras cosas. Tanto por calidad como por presentación queda claro que está situado por arriba del Logan. George Barris has owned this particular car since 1965 when he bought it from Ford for the princely sum of $1. While it started life as the expensive and Italian-built 1955 Lincoln Futura Concept, the car would go on to worldwide fame after a hasty makeover from Barris. Over just three days, the custom car builder sank his teeth into the hand-hammered sheetmetal to create Batman's first Batmobile. Up close, the car can't help but look cartoonish thanks to its over-the-top '60s design, but that doesn't diminish the car's presence. This is the car Adam West spent two years piloting around Gotham and matching wits with the city's cast of deviants. Very cool. In this time, production of the subcompact will commence in Mexico, and sales of the car are expected to swell to 200,000 units annually thanks to an expanded model lineup. Joining the current hatchback model, Honda is planning to use the Fit as the basis for a new sedan and crossover, although it isn't clear whether or not the cars will wear the Fit nameplate. According to Automotive News, various sources have confirmed that the new bodystyles will be made at the new Mexican plant, but Honda has not yet said if all three models will be on sale in the US. Adding a sedan would allow the Fit to better compete against rival cars like the Ford Fiesta, Nissan Versa, Chevrolet Sonic and Hyundai Accent, while the new crossover would give a unique product in the ever-growing B-segment. The redesigned Honda Fit goes on sale next year with the new plant in Mexico going on line in 2014. There will be only eight of them, and they'll be known by their colors: either two Malibu blue with Suzuka grey sideblades, or the inverse. The 19-inch, high-gloss black wheels with five twin spokes in a "Y" motif will also be a giveaway. This is a color-and-ornament job, no tuning tweaks here. If you do get a chance to get inside, however, instead of black leather you'll find black shark skin with contrasting stitching, along with Alcantara, plenty of carbon fiber trim and Chinese characters on the shift knob identifying the production number. This is the first time an Audi production car has been embellished with the native language, and mindful of native manners, any number that includes "4" has been removed from the serial list. We're fans of any R8, but our favorite thing about this one might be this line in the press release from Audi China: "It's not important if it's rare, the important thing is that... you own it." Es un todocamino de tamaño recortado que comparte muchos elementos con el Opel Mokka incluyendo cadena de montaje en suelo surcoreano. Aunque por ahora no hay precios recomendados, sí se saben algunos detalles relativos al equipamiento de seguridad y confort, y a la gama inicial. En principio serán los tres motores conocidos (1.6i 16v, 1.4i Turbo y 1.7 VCDI) desde que se hiciera oficial los que lleguen a nuestro mercado, combinables con otros tres niveles de acabado, LS, LT y LT+ (en el catalogo inicial no aparece el LTZ, aunque imaginamos terminará llegando). La única opción con tracción total tendrá motor diésel, único bloque también con posibilidad de cambio automático. Reportedly called the CX-3, the small crossover will be engineered to take on the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Nissan Juke, but with a focus on fuel efficiency and engaging driving characteristics. The report names no sources, but says the CX-3 will benefit from a new small-displacement diesel engine. The 1.6-liter oil burner will be joined by a 1.3-liter gasoline engine when the vehicle debuts in 2014. Auto Express reports the model may bow as a front-wheel drive offering only, with no all-wheel-drive option. And what will it look like? Word has it Mazda will continue to leverage the face we've seen on the current CX-5 (pictured). That means the company's shield grille will make the jump, but with more plastic lower body cladding.
