Esa campaña la conforma un vídeo, que te espera tras el salto, que da paso a una página web especialmente preparada por la compañía del toro bravo. En paralelo, el CEO de Lamborghini confirmaba que la marca contará con un nuevo modelo para celebrar su 50 aniversario en 2013 (por si te fallan las matemáticas, fue fundada en 1963). Stephan Winkelmann aseguró durante el Salón de Los Ángeles que el modelo de la celebración será "un modelo especial", y los medios asumieron que se tratará de un "one-off", vamos, una única unidad, como ya se hizo con el Lamborghini Aventador J. Pero 2013 debería dar vida también al sucesor del Gallardo, teniendo en cuenta que ya están despidiendo al deportivo de acceso actual, ¿no? De la misma manera que el Aventador J era una variante muy especial del Aventador normal, tal vez el nuevo "one-off" sea un derivado especial del nuevo Gallardo. Hay que destacar que en el acumulado del año, las matriculaciones ya han superado el millón de unidades y han conseguido un nuevo récord histórico. En total van 1.016.605 vehículos entregados a nuevos clientes y todavía falta contabilizar un mes para cerrar el año. Either because no one wanted Pepper using that evolutionary skill called "flying," or because Andrew is an electrical and computer engineering student at the University of Florida and so why let evolution do what computers can do for you, he built Pepper a contraption called the Bird Buggy so that Pepper could stay close. It's a computer-controlled cart that Pepper can drive with a joystick mounted in front of his perch. It moves forward and back, left and right, has infrared sensors to keep Pepper from hitting walls, and bump sensors that will automatically reverse the buggy if it does manage to collide with something. The body is shaped to hold the day's paper so that Pepper can do his business on the go. And when it's time to recharge, the Bird Buggy can operate autonomously, using a forward-mounted camera to locate and dock with its recharging station. Without a doubt it beats any toy we'll get this Christmas. After garnering the support of sponsors and fielding one of the most unique race cars in recent history, the team suffered an early crash at the 24 Hours of Le Mans that saw them sidelined during the remainder of the car's debut race. Likewise, a collision during qualifying at Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta put the team at the back of the pack for the race. Even so, the car managed to fight its way through the field of competitors to place fifth overall. Needless to say, the car, its drivers and its team have learned some serious lessons in its first year. To commemorate the DeltaWing's first season on the world's race tracks, Nissan has worked up a quick retrospective video documenting the car's trials and triumphs in 2012. Built in Sweden and shipped to Belgium, the car wears all of the necessary kit to pass as a 850R, and with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder under the hood, this creation should have no trouble dashing through the snow. Looks like a mighty fine use of an otherwise derelict Volvo wagon to us, though we have to imagine all that torque steer and no weight over the aft would make for all sorts of silliness once the roads went slick. Still, if it were our Sawzall, we'd be happier with the keys to a certain BMW M5 utility in our pocket. Or, you know, the 3 Series conversion BMW whipped up not too long ago. Following the debut of a new Quattroporte sedan, Fiat wants to boost Maserati sales to 50,000 vehicles by 2015. Maserati may lose as much as €7 million ($9.05 million) this year, and Fiat is betting big on Chrysler platforms and dealers to turn that around. Currently regarded as a low-volume boutique carmaker, Maserati sold just 6,159 units last year, and 4,700 units through three quarters of this year. For 2013, Fiat boss Sergio Marchionne is targeting 13,000 in sales of the redesigned Quattroporte alone. Fiat apparently wants the brand's low volume image to change, hoping to position it closer to BMW and Porsche in the market. The recent unveiling of the new Quattroporte will be followed by more new vehicle launches, including a crossover utility called Levante, and a long-promised sub-Quattroporte sedan, called Ghibli. The latter will share certain components with the Chrysler 300 sedan in an effort to optimize production costs. The Ghibli will be positioned to take on the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. According to Bloomberg, Fiat and Chrysler are now offering current Volkswagen owners in the US $1,000 rebates to trade in their ride. It's the latest in a series of shots Marchionne has taken at his German rival. As you may recall, the Fiat executive entered into a spat with Volkwagen board chairman Ferdinand Piëch and CEO Martin Winterkorn in October after the duo called for Marchionne's resignation from presidency of the European Automotive Manufacturers Association (AECA). At the time, the Volkswagen executives were quoted as saying Fiat would not survive the European economic downturn. In response, Marchionne called the German executives "reprehensible," and accused Volkswagen of using a pricing strategy that has created created a "bloodbath" in the EU. Volkswagen has taken to steep discounting to carve out ever-larger slices of market share in Europe, but the company has a much smaller foothold in the US. Marchionne may be trying to hit Volkswagen where the manufacturer is weakest with the new Fiat new incentive program. Sin embargo ahora la división juvenil de Toyota presenta la gama 2013 y de paso calla algunas bocas que daban por segura su desaparición en el mercado. Exteriormente la nueva gama recibe paragolpes más envolventes, iluminación diurna por LEDs, nuevo difusor posterior pintado en negro y dos nuevos tonos para la carrocería (un rojo y un azul). En el interior destaca la introducción de nuevos tapizados y la llegada de apliques decorativos en colores bronce y cromo. En opción aparece el sistema de sonido BeSpoke, de altas prestaciones. Toyota ha comunicado que los xB y xD no tendrán un sucesor directo, pero esto mismo no implica que tengan que ser cesados inmediatamente. De ahí que se haya presentado la nueva gama. Wearing a more revealing suit of camouflage than the last time we saw it, its A-Class platform ties are more apparent even as everything has been beefed up - note this mule's punched-up fenders front and rear, along with its flared haunches. Its rear door is larger, befitting a crossover, and the backlight features more slope to maintain the sporty lines. It's expected in 2014, throwing the Three-Pointed Star in the challenge ring against the BMW X1 and Audi Q3. To get your seat fitted perfectly to your body without having to touch any of its controls, you enter your information into the SmartFit app: gender, height, weight, reach and a picture of yourself sitting down. The data will be uploaded to Faurecia's system, which will work out "your tailored comfort profile," then send that via Bluetooth to the car's seat, and the chair will automatically shape-shift to hold you just like you like. The app includes adjustments for specialized conditions like back stiffness and leg or thermal discomfort. Going even further, Faurecia imagines you could purchase enhanced seating functions like Shiatsu massage, IsoHeat treatment and "workout relief." The closure is set to occur in 2016, when the current Opel Zafira minivan ends its production run. According to Automotive News Europe, parent company General Motors is looking to minimize the impact to the 3,300-strong workforce by adapting the plant to focus on component and distribution efforts. According to the report, GM believes the economy in Europe will not recover until 2014, and that this move was unavoidable. GM expects losses of between $1.5 billion to $1.8 billion from its Opel and Vauxhall brands in Europe. To try and stem the hemorrhaging, Opel is forced to lay off 2,600 employees, resulting in a $300 million spending cut. Another $500 million in cost cutting is excepted between from to 2013, through 2015 as part of a plan called Drive Opel 2022. The decade-long plan is rooted in cost-cutting, reorganization, and re-focusing products and marketing. As part of this plan, Opel will launch 23 new models between now and 2016. Still, the plant closure comes as a blow to many Opel employees, and the labor union has hopes to save the Bochum facility. Unions, as well as the German Government, expect General Motors to compensate those who lose their jobs in this closure with appropriate severance packages. GM Europe stated that it is trying to move component production to the Ruhr Valley region, where the Bochum factory is located. Las marcas, tanto generalistas como premium, se adaptan a la nueva situación del mercado lanzando versiones de acceso más económicas. Tras la llegada de los 114i, BMW ahora hace lo propio en la gama del Serie 3 con la introducción de los nuevos 316i. Están asociados a un motor de 1,6 litros, inyección directa de gasolina y desarrollan una potencia máxima de 136 CV. In the latest example of awesomeness from the Stanford Revs Program, Hearst Publishing is transferring the entire archives of Road & Track magazine to the Palo Alto, California campus for preservation. The program aims to create a researchable catalog of automotive history, and the archives are just the latest step in that effort. Road & Track dates back to 1947, and the combined archives filled 527 boxes weighing in at a total of 10,000 pounds. It took two trucks to ship the archives to Stanford. While the physical collection will be housed at the university's library, the Revs Program aims to digitize every issue and make them available to the public online. But the archive is more than just old back issues. Revs Program Executive Director Reilly P. Brennan (and former AOL Autos editor in chief) notes the archive includes everything from hand-drawn graphs to receipts detailing everything from road test fuel purchases to dinners with Enzo Ferrari. There's a lot of original photos and art, too. The Italian supercar brand sticks with a particular model for a respectably long period of time, thus any model changeover is cause for attention. First came the gloriously badass Aventador succeeding the Murcielago, which signals that the Gallardo replacement is on the way next. Not one to let any occasion go without its due pomp and circumstance, Lambo released a video entitled "The Final Gallardo." The clip features various footage from the life of the Gallardo, worked in with a manifesto of sorts regarding Lamborghini's purpose, and how that fits into the Italian way of life. Little is stated about the Gallardo itself, let alone the eventual replacement. Additionally, it is unclear if the video is to celebrate a special "Final Edition," or merely the last Gallardo to roll out of Sant'Agata Bolognese. | Posted: 10 Dec 2012 12:54 PM PST  Video: Porsche Sport Turismo explicado por sus creadores Filed under: Porsche, Conceptuales Aunque presentado en el pasado salón de París, del Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo nos llega hoy en un nuevo vídeo donde los diseñadores y el director de investigación y desarrollo, Wolfgang Hatz, nos explican su visión del Sport Turismo. Y donde se le ve rodar por primera vez. "La forma sigue la función. Si mejoras la forma, también lo haces mejorando la funcionalidad, la eficacia del producto", comenta Michael Mauer, director del diseño de Porsche. También es la oportunidad de ver cómo funciona el cuadro de instrumentos con las dos pantallas de retrovisión integradas o la pantalla táctil del túnel central. Aún así, el Sport Turismo sigue teniendo más botones que el cockpit de Airbus... El video termina con las palabras de Michael Mauer: "El Sport Turismo nos muestra que no hay contradicción entre deportividad y funcionalidad". Toda una declaración de intenciones de hacia donde irá una parte importante de la gama Porsche en los futuros años, no sólo el Panamera.
