La respuesta no fue muy positiva.Audi estaría considerando la creación de un superdeportivo diésel. O al menos esa es la noticia de la que se hace eco Auto Express. La publicación inglesa, famosa por sus titulares llamativos -aunque muchas veces resulten ser falsos o simples rumores-, cita al propio Wolfgang Durheimer, nuevo jefe del desarrollo técnico de Audi. "Definitivamente hay hueco para un super deportivo por encima del R8", explicaba. "Si lo hacemos como un híbrido diésel podría ser todo un éxito. Lo que siempre ha vendido son las prestaciones y si el coche es rápido, tiene un consumo bajo y es espectacular, estoy seguro de que sería un éxito". Wolfgan Durheimer tuvo está "genial" idea al mirar la décimoprimera victoria de Audi en las 24 Horas de Le Mans : "¿Cómo podemos transferir esa tecnología a los coches de calle?", pensó. De momento, no es más que una idea, una simple teoría. Aún falta mucho tiempo para que veamos un R10 diésel, y probablemente no pase de la simple tormenta de ideas en una reunión de ingenieros. Y es que al final los que deciden realmente son los directivos de markéting. En un mercado en el que los clientes de Rolls-Royce han dicho no a una versión eléctrica y cuando la propia Audi no tiene claro que el R8 e-tron eléctrico tenga salida comercial -y todo apunta a que no-, se me antoja muy complicado que una clientela tan conservadora como la de los super deportivos y coches de lujo pueda decidirse por un R10 diésel... Vamos, que no nos lo creemos. En todo caso, un R8 o R10 híbrido gasolina, como el Porsche 918 o el futuro NSX, sí podría tener una salida comercial. Posted: 25 Nov 2012 10:17 PM PST Official: 2013 Chrysler Town and Country S is the van in black Filed under: LA Auto Show, Minivan/Van, ChryslerChrysler previously brought us the "man van" with the Dodge Grand Caravan R/T, but now it's apparently rolling out its its "mean van," with this sinister 2013 Town and Country S. Joining similar packages available on the 200 and 300 sedans, this new Town and Country trim replaces most of the standard car's shiny bits with dark accents, giving the minivan a more unique appearance. The S trim level brings with it things like a black chrome grille, black-accented wheels and blacked-out headlight inserts, and it will only be offered in limited exterior colors (black, red, white and silver); we're guessing it looks best in the more monotone, limousine-spec paint scheme as seen above. The interior has likewise been given a blacked-out treatment including a black headliner and combination leather and cloth seats. All Town and Country S models come standard with Chrysler's new Blu-Ray rear-seat entertainment system, and it also has an HDMI input and a pair of USB ports that can charge mobile devices. The S' performance modifications start and end with a firmer sport suspension setup. No word on pricing yet for the Town and Country S or when it will go on sale, but we'll see it in person later this week at the LA Auto Show. Until then, Ford has made it official that the 2014 Fiesta will be available with the MyFord Touch infotainment system. The European-spec version of the car is shown above. Like other current Ford products, there will likely be two versions of MyFord Touch in the new Fiesta: a base system with regular controls and one with a Sony-branded audio system with capacitive touch buttons. Both will get a bigger 6.5-inch screen that should be far more attractive than the red-tinted display in current models. For Fiesta buyers, MyFord Touch will be an optional upgrade from the Sync system, and it will offer features such as Bluetooth connectivity and voice recognition. While Ford is still working on perfecting the operation of its MyFord Touch, the latest version is simpler to use than the system's original software. Ford has yet to announce pricing for the 2014 Fiesta or the car's MyFord Touch. For an extra $2,995 on top of the price of a 2013 Charger R/T or another $2,500 added to the price of a 2013 Charger R/T Road & Track, customers will get a limited-edition trim level set off with Satin Black hood stripes, black roof wrap and an R/T spoiler all riding atop 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. There will only be 2,500 Daytona packages on offer, all naturally featuring Chrysler's Hemi V8 with 370-horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque under a Daytona Blue engine cover. Only four exterior colors will be offered - Daytona Blue, Bright White, Billet Silver and Pitch Black - additional exterior notes being the Satin Black crosshair grille with vintage-look R/T badging, and the name "Daytona" applied to the rear quarter panels. The cabin gets Daytona tweaks like Daytona Blue embroidery, stitching and piping on the seats, dark brushed aluminum trim, a Mopar bright pedal kit and a 552-watt, 10-speaker Beats Audio System. A dashboard plaque will let everyone know where you fell in the special line. Prices work out to $32,990 for the R/T and $36,495 for the R/T Road & Track Daytona models. Yeah. Never. Nevertheless, that's what Audi R&D chief Wolfgang Durheimer told Auto Express about a his idea for a supercar to sit above the R8 and bang carbon-fiber fenders with the McLaren P1, Ferrari F70 and Porsche 918. Durheimer's quest, in his double life as not just R&D director but also Volkswagen's head of motorsport, is to create a more obvious and lucrative connection between an Audi road car and the automaker's 24 Hours of Le Mans victories with diesel-powered racers. It's pure speculation after that, but Auto Express distills particulars down to at least 700 horsepower and 737 foot-pounds of torque, terminal velocity beyond 200 mph, and construction using either a bespoke carbon fiber tub or the coming MSB platform planned for all mid- and rear-engined VW-Group models. Figure a 2017 due date at the earliest. Durheimer said his team will soon to decide the top three priorities for the future. Pues bien, según la revista francesa L'Automobile Magazine, esta transmisión también llegará a otras versiones. En concreto será el A250 equipado con el motor 2.0 Turbo de 211 CV el que pueda combinarse con la tracción 4Matic, una mezcla que será muy interesante y sobre todo más razonable en precio (desconocemos lo que costará el A45 AMG pero suponemos será muy caro). Lo que no parece tan seguro es que haya posibilidad de optar por una versión diésel con esta transmisión, al menos antes del 2014. The report says that it's known as the "1.0-liter car" internally, but it won't use the same engine as Volkswagen's entry and the displacement codename might or might not describe the car's actual engine size. There will definitely be an electric component involved, however. The tiny bit that is known comes courtesy of Wolfgang Durheimer, Audi's technology chief, who says the car will utilize a version of the steel platform the A1 is based on. He tells Autocar that it will "be an 'affordable' full four-seater" and it will provide "all the creature comforts of a normal car, including climate control." Posted: 25 Nov 2012 12:07 PM PST Official: Nissan prices the 2013 Versa, Cube and Armada Filed under: Car Buying, Budget, Sedan, SUV, Hatchback, Nissan, Luxury, Off-RoadNissan has revealed prices for three of its 2013 offerings: the Versa, Cube and Armada. There are no exterior revisions for any beyond paint choices, but all get new combinations in packaging and tech along with minor price increases. The Versa goes up in price by $1,000. The base, five-speed manual Versa S rings up at $11,990 before the $790 destination and handling charge. Even at that price, the Versa remains the least expensive new car in America to buy. A 1.6 S AT with a four-speed automatic joins the lineup on top of the five-speed and the Xtronic CVT, bringing 26 mpg city and 35 mpg highway to the mix. A new S Plus trim gets cruise control and two more rear speakers. Aero enhancements like low-rolling resistance tires, an air intake guide, rear spoiler and rear wheel and underbody air deflectors mean that every CVT Versa gets 40 highway mpg, up from 38 mpg in 2012. The Versa line maxes out at $16,590 for the 1.6 SL CVT. The 2013 Cube goes up by $180, now starting at $16,760 before $790 for destination and handling. For 2013, Nissan axes the base 1.8 model, leaving just S and SL trims. Transmission choices remain a six-speed manual or CVT. The 2013 Armada's price rises by $840 to $40,710 before the $995 destination fee. A new Platinum Reserve Package makes the priciest Armada sticker at $56,180. It includes 20-inch dark chrome wheels, dark chrome grille and outside mirrors, two-tone Chocolate/Almond leather seating, and dark satin chrome interior accents. For the back-seaters, the single eight-inch screen for the DVD system becomes two seven-inch, headrest-mounted screens. El piloto más joven en conseguirlo. El único piloto capaz de dar victorias a la escudería de Faenza (la anteriormente conocida como Minardi, y que ahora lleva el nombre de Toro Rosso). Los registros de Vettel son indiscutibles. Puede que haya quien hable mal del alemán. Bajo mi punto de vista es un tremendo error ser "forofista", en cualquier dirección y sentido, y, a través de un potente medio de comunicación, aseverar y dar a entender que Vettel es quien es porque está donde está, aludiendo a la suerte de correr con un equipo como Red Bull, y tener un ingeniero como Adrian Newey. Eso es una pura reducción de la situación a sus elementos más simples. Porque Vettel es campeón del mundo merecido, aunque en la carrera del Gran Premio de Brasil haya sido presa de los nervios en algunos momentos, en una situación tensa a través de la que nos ha recordado que es uno de los más jóvenes de la parrilla. Hoy ha debido ver pasar "su mundial" delante de sus ojos mientras trompeaba "ayudado" por otros pilotos, tras una salida en la que le han faltado "nervios de acero" y "narices" por no decir otra cosa peor sonante. The company hopes the tech will help reduce the likelihood of high-speed crashes and accidents caused by pedal misapplication. One of the systems uses millimeter-wave radar to calculate the risk of a collision. Like the Volvo City Safety technology, when the vehicle senses an impending crash, it alerts the driver with both audio and visual cues. A new brake booster can then be activated to help deliver twice the braking force typically available. Toyota also hopes to prevent parking collisions with an additional automatic braking system. Using sonar, the vehicle can detect whether the car is approaching a stationary obstacle too quickly and apply the brakes as necessary. It also features a fail-safe that will automatically slow the vehicle if the driver shifts gears while the accelerator is applied or "abnormal shifting" is detected. As part of a community outreach program, it has added a Ford Falcon GT to its stable of pursuit vehicles. Though the car has been fitted with the lights, radio and speed-monitoring tech of its more common cruisers, officers intend use the car more to reach out to young motorsports fans than to run down baddies. So far, it seems to be working. Police took the sedan to the Sydney Dragway at Eastern Creek, and the supercharged Falcon GT had no problem drawing a crowd. As you may recall, the Falcon GT is the most powerful vehicle to ever roll out of Ford Australia. The four-door boasts 450 horsepower from the factory, though the pursuit model makes closer to 536 hp thanks to tweaks like a new fuel map and free-flowing exhaust.
