Así podríamos resumir el resultado de la carrera vivida ayer en el Gran Premio de Suzuka. Nos quedan cinco carreras, y tras el resultado de la prueba de ayer, veremos una lucha encarnizada entre dos, Vettel y Alonso, en la que apenas hay ventajas, para saber quién es el campeón del mundo 2012. Hay un protagonista inesperado. Un invitado que verá desde la barrera la lucha, y que ahora mismo cabalga en tercera posición en la clasificación: Kimi Raikkonen. A la chita callando el finlandés ha ido sumando puntos poco a poco, aprovechándose de la irregularidad de los pilotos de McLaren, sobre todo, para ocupar una plaza que sorprende. El inicio de la carrera de ayer no debería haber sorprendido a nadie. Alonso se quedó fuera a la primera de cambio tras una arriesgada salida, en la que se quedó en la parte exterior de la pista. Le pinchó la rueda un Raikkonen que poco podía hacer al encontrarse al asturiano "en medio mitad" de su trayectoria. Habrá quien diga que no tuvo rivales de auténtico nivel. Que siempre tuvo un coche ganador entre las manos. Que el WRC ha estado de capa caída... Da igual. No se le puede quitar valor a la proeza del genial Sebastien Loeb, que ayer se hizo con su noveno campeonato del mundo justo en el Rally de su casa, en el Rally de Francia. Y lo hizo como mejor sabe: dominando, controlando la situación. Corriendo cuando tocaba, y guardando la ropa cuando la cosa se complicaba sobre el asfalto. Una buena muestra de la valía de Loeb es su "tasa de combustión" de compañeros de equipo. In it's fourth running, the event is a NASA-sanctioned, non-competitive rally that features classic machinery from 1975 and earlier on a jaunt through some of central California's most beautiful countryside. The three-day event is open to any make and model, right down to vintage pickups, so this is our kind of party. The crew from Petrolicious Productions captured this year's batch of drivers as they wound through the dirt roads and rolling coastline. The five-minute clip is loaded to the brim with beautiful machinery, from BMW 2002 racers to classic Porsche 911 and 914 models, as well as more than a few Jaguar E-Type and Alfa Romeo participants. On vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions, the ignition park-shift interlock is the suspected culprit. A possible malfunction allows drivers to remove the key from the ignition even if the vehicle is not in Park. Vehicles have been said to roll away and collide with other objects. Forty-three complaints, some apparently resulting in injuries, have triggered the agency's examination of approximately 577,000 vehicles. Auto Shows, South AmericaKia has already released official images of its next-generation Cerato, but thanks to Chilean blogger Ramón Rivera Notario, we have our first live look at what will become the 2014 Kia Forte sedan. The new Cerato, also known as the K3 in South Korea, is currently on display at the Santiago Motor Show. The new Forte's styling is a clear departure from the current boxy design, and borrows heavily from Kia's upcoming flagship, the Quoris. These images also give us our first official look inside the new Cerato/K3/Forte, whose dark, upscale cabin is in keeping with what we've seen in other recent Kia releases. There's still no word on the powertrain we'll see in the new Forte, but a highway fuel economy rating of at least 40 miles per gallon, like the related Hyundai Elantra, is probably a safe bet. We expect it the U.S.-market debut of the redesigned Forte next year at the either the Chicago or New York Auto Show. Este sedán no será comercializado en nuestro país pero aún así nos parece interesante que lo conozcas más en detalle. En el vídeo promocional Peugeot parece dejar claro que es un vehículo apto para todo. Ya sea por ciudad, autopistas o pistas de tierra, el 301 no te dejará colgado. Suponemos que la mayor altura al suelo en comparación con los productos enfocados al mercado europeo tiene mucho que ver en esto. At least that seems to be Petter Solberg's philosophy. The Norwegian rally driver bowed out of the Rally of France Alsace on Saturday when he left the course, drove through a vineyard, rejoined the course briefly, drove through a second vineyard and struck a power pole. As if that weren't bizarre enough, the impact sent the pole crashing to the ground, narrowly missing spectators and sending power lines arcing across parked vehicles in the area. Solberg started the day in fourth place overall, but ended his bout for the podium on the first stage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the off. You can take a closer look at the scene in the video below. With Timo Kluck behind the wheel, this Carrera S posted better times around the 'Ring than the 997 911 Turbo and, according to PorscheBoost, it even knocked a full two seconds off the time the Carrera S recorded last year. The run took place on August 28, but Porsche only published the video this week. Su gama de motores iba desde el modesto 4 cilindros de 1.6 litros hasta el salvaje 3.2 litros del M de 321 CV. Después llegó la era de Chris Bangle en cuanto a diseño, con su lote de controversias, de pros y contras (personalmente, me encantan sus diseños), con modelos más o menos acertados. Uno de los más acertados es sin duda el Z4. Con sus flancos esculpidos en forma de Z, su interminable capó (en su día tuvo el honor de ser el capó más largo de la producción mundial) y las dos plazas casi encima de las ruedas traseras, el Z4 cumple con los requisitos del clásico roadster, tal y como lo inventaron los británicos. Fan de Chris Bangle o no, el Z4 está ganando adeptos y su diseño parece no envejecer tanto como el de otras creaciones suyas (Serie 7, por ejemplo). Sustituyendo al Z3, BMW decidió posicionarlo más alto en la gama para rivalizar con el Porsche Boxster. De hecho, al inicio de su comercialización sólo estaba disponible con motores de 6 cilindros y 24 válvulas, un 2.2 litros de 170 CV; un 2.5 litros de 192 CV y un 3.0 litros de 231 CV. En 2006, llega el restyling y con él, la versión Coupé y la variante M con motor 3.2 litros de 343 CV. Además, con el restyling el 3.0 litros de 231 CV pasa a 265 CV y se llama 3.0si, mientras que el 2.5i pasa a ser 2.5si y desarrolla 215 CV. Como llega el otoño y es la mejor época del año para comprar un roadster (o cualquier coche), el "usado sí, pero interesante" de esta semana va dedicado al Z4.
