El motivo original de traerlo hoy era proponerte ver su nueva vídeo-prueba retro, a bordo de un Nissan 240Z rodando por las calles de Tokio, visitando después el centro de diseño de la compañía nipona para discutir sobre lo que hace grande al "zeta". Pero la sorpresa ha sido mayúscula al escuchar la entrevista con el jefe de diseño de Nissan, e indagar sobre el por qué de la visita de Leno a los cuarteles generales de la marca. Y es que nada sucede por casualidad. El bueno de Jay, nada mas ver al diseñador de Nissan, le comenta si habrá un nuevo modelo para celebrar el 45 aniversario del modelo, con un modelo más pequeño, ligero y económico, en la línea del 240Z. Increíblemente, a pesar de lo reservados que suelen ser los nipones, el jefe de diseño de la marca da a entender que sí, que efectivamente habrá "algo especial" para el año que viene, en la forma de un nuevo Zeta. A continuación Leno se sumerge en el mundo del diseño de Nissan, para fantasear un poco con el "cómo podría ser", y nos queda sólo una vista lateral en azul para pensar, donde vemos "la esencia" de las formas laterales del modelo original, conservadas. No sabemos más, pero créenos si te decimos que el vídeo merece la pena. Well, turns out they're even worse than anyone thought. A Ford executive tells Bloomberg that dealers for brands across the EU are buying their own cars, boosting new-car sales figures by as much as 30 percent. The dealers then sell the brand-new cars as used vehicles for steep discounts. "It is a very aggressive environment and until either demand picks up or capacity is adjusted to the situation, it's unlikely going to change," Roelant de Waard, Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford of Europe, told Bloomberg at the Paris Motor Show last week. Ford has been having a rough time in Europe, posting the biggest sales declines in the industry for August, according to Automotive News. In the case of the new 301, Peugeot is literally looking to capitalize on new markets...as in developing regions for car buying. Some of the highest selling vehicles in the world are extremely simple, low-cost sedans. Vehicles like the Nissan Versa (or Tiida, or Sunny) and Renault Logan trade on selling the basics. Enter the 301, which is named for a Peugeot from the 1930's and prioritizes affordability and durability above all else. It is available with one of three engines. The base engine is a new 1.2-liter three cylinder mill, making a robust 72 horsepower. Up from there is a 115 horsepower 1.6-liter inline-four. Both are available with either a manual transmission or an automated manual gearbox. A 92 horsepower 1.6-liter diesel is available, and comes only with the manual transmission. The 301 will go on sale in Turkey November 1st, but will expand to Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Middle East, several parts of Africa, Latin America, and eventually, China. Features err on the practical side, and include a heated windshield and electrical heating resistors that provide faster heating in extremely cold climes. FCEV enthusiasts are likely hoping that the head of fuel-cell research at Hyundai isn't just spewing hot air. Hyundai's Lim Tae-won said electric-vehicle makers like Nissan started mass-producing models such as the Leaf too early and are hurting mass acceptance of EVs because there isn't a sufficient vehicle charging infrastructure in place to support broad sales. Specifically, Reuters reports, he said: "It was a hasty approach. The battery electric cars may have helped raise brand value for a couple of years, but ended up slowing down the take-off in the market." The Hyundai executive also said that hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) will become price competitive with battery-electric vehicles sometime between 2020 and 2025, and that FCEVs will become preferred to battery-electric vehicles for the reasons we've all heard before: FCEVs can go about as far as a conventional fossil-fueled vehicle on a full tank - roughly four times a most fully charged EVs. FCEVs also don't emit greenhouse gas emissions. At the Paris Motor Show earlier this week, Hyundai said that it will make the first mass-produced FCEV. This will be the ix35 (it's the Tucson in the U.S.) fuel-cell crossover and will be available to the public for lease by the end of the year. Through 2015, Hyundai says it will make about 1,000 ix35 FCEVs, which have a full-tank range of about 365 miles. Según ha comunicado Renault, a finales del mes de junio salió el último de los Twingo de primera generación de las líneas de montaje. No se había comentado nada hasta ahora para evitar que problemas en las ventas del stock acumulado. El modelo que llega para sustituirle es el Clio Campus, más moderno tecnológicamente y con mayores posibilidades de equipamiento manteniendo un precio contenido. Desde aquí nos queremos despedir del pequeño Twingo de primera generación, un modelo que muy valorado y con gran número de seguidores en todo el mundo. The traditional double-cradle frame and drive shaft remain, however. To start, the Italian company will offer the V7 in three distinct flavors: the V7 Stone, V7 Racer and V7 Special. The Stone has the lowest price point at $8,390 to start, and is made to appeal to a younger buyers with its clean design and ample customization options. The V7 Racer clearly has been aimed at the retro-loving rider, as it makes use of old school number plates on the cowl and rear fenders, while rocking a vintage chrome tank and suede seat. The Racer is also the most dear, at $9,990 to start. Finally the V7 Special fills the need for a classically inspired touring bike with a large, 5.8-gallon tank (offering an average range of 310 miles) and available add-ons like luggage bags and a proper windshield. MSRP for the Special is $8,990. The V7 Racer will be the first of the new range to show up at your local motorcycle emporium, with delivery slated for early October. What we see here is the 2012 Peugeot 2008 Concept, which is going into production next year. The new subcompact crossover will slot below the Peugeot 3008 CUV. As we saw in the stock photos Peugeot released a couple weeks ago, the biggest difference between the 2088 Concept and the Urban Crossover Concept seen earlier in the year is the stepped roof. This feature will likely maximize interior space for the small utility vehicle, but we still haven't seen any of the concept's interior bits. El proyecto tenía que llevar el V6 sobrealimentado que también se empleará en los Ghibli y Levante, compartiendo chasis monocasco en fibra de carbono del Alfa Romeo 4C. Esta semana AutoBild, la publicación alemana del motor, publicaba nuevos y contradictorios detalles sobre el proyecto. Los alemanes aseguran que sigue en marcha, lo que es, sin duda, una buena noticia. Pero en lugar de hablar de un V6 central biturbo sobre chasis de fibra de carbono, aseguran que este nuevo biplaza del tridente sería montado sobre el mismo chasis del Ferrari 458, con un V8 atmosférico algo menos potente que el equivalente del cavallino. And because of that, the Euro-spec Spark has undergone a minor facelift for the 2013 model year, showing its slight nip/tuck here at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. You'll have to look closely to spot the differences, but changes up front include redesigned headlamp and foglamp units, as well as a lower front grille that sweeps all the way across the underside of the bumper. Out back, the LED center brake lamp has been incorporated into the rear spoiler, and inside, storage has been improved thanks to a slightly redesigned center console. In Europe, the Spark is offered with two tiny-displacement engine configurations: a 1.0-liter inline-four producing 68 horsepower or a 1.2-liter four with a whopping 82 hp on tap. Exteriormente el nuevo C-Quatre Cross se reconocerá por las molduras plásticas que recorren todo el contorno de su carrocería, la moldura que simula el protector de bajos y una suspensión que eleva la altura al suelo. Completan el conjunto las barras de techo y el nuevo difusor posterior. Lo que no hemos todavía es el interior ni conocemos los posibles cambios mecánicos, pero dentro de poco saldremos de dudas ya que será presentado oficialmente el día 9 de octubre. We were able to bring you the scoop on both a few weeks ago, but here's the recap to go with our fresh images from the show's floor. The 208 GTI is lighter, more powerful and better dynamically than the 207 GTI hot hatch that it replaces. The car's 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 197 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. The 208 XY, meanwhile, is aimed at a 208 buyer that is more interested in added style than added pace. Style of a sort, anyway. The XY is offered in a hue called Purple Night (one of six colors available), which is reflected just about everywhere you scan on the vehicle in our live images - the center caps of the exclusive wheels, on the Peugeot logos and dabbed on various surfaces of the interior.
