Filed under: Alfa RomeoPincha la imagen para ver la galería Este artículo no va sobre cómo va a ser el nuevo sedán de Alfa Romeo, el Giulia, del que tanto hemos oído y hablado en los últimos meses, y del que deberíamos tener gran parte de la información definitiva a finales de octubre. Aquí te vamos a exponer el coche que, como aficionados, nos gustaría ver. Probablemente el producto final diste bastante del concepto que vamos a plantear (aunque es más que probable que cuente con tracción trasera), pero dicen que por soñar no se pierde nada más que un poco de tiempo. Y es que Alfa Romeo tiene una historia pasada que invita a pensar cómo deberían ser las cosas para que la marca recuperara su esencia más básica. No hace demasiado tiempo que la editorial británica ofreció una exclusiva e interesante mirada al diseño de un Fórmula 1 moderno a través de lo que ellos llamaron "libro de taller del propietario" del primer Red Bull campeón del mundo de F1. Pero los coches de hoy en día son demasiado tecnológicos, electrónicos y aerodinámicos como para enamorar con el simple entendimiento de su conocimiento técnico. Por eso, el nuevo volumen que nos hemos encontrado en Amazon nos ha convencido mucho más. Versa sobre el espectacular y mítico Lotus 72. El que probablemente sea recordado como el mejor F1 de la historia, creado por el genial Colin Chapman, y percusor de los F1 modernos, con sus pontones para los radiadores laterales, el morro afilado, y mil detalles más. Cuesta sólo unos 20€ a través de Amazon, y aunque está en inglés, nos parece una elección genial para adornar tu mesilla y acompañarte esos minutos previos a tu sueño diario. Tal vez así consigas soñar esa noche que conduces uno de estos setenta y dos "negro y oro" por Eau Rouge. Still, those who enter the seven-figure club are known to spend far more than mere MSRP because they can't risk their multimillion-dollar car being just like someone else's multimillion-dollar car. That's why Koenigsegg has a customization division called BLT. We don't know what that stands for, but are fairly certain it has nothing to do with delicious sandwiches. To showcase the level of available customization, we present this Koenigsegg Agera R BLT. Built for a customer in China, its carbon body is tinted blue and set off with red pinstriping. Inside, there's lots of blue leather and blue cross-stitching to go with "many other unique features chosen by its owner." We love the bodywork, but for a company that charges $28,000 for a Thule rooftop cargo box and $11,700 for winter wheels and tires for the Agera R, the price for this kind of personalization must be stupefying. The latest is the recently-released Porsche 911 Carrera S with a Gemballa GT aerodynamics and technology package. Aero-wise, it includes carbon fiber additions beginning with a front bumper wearing the classic Gemballa air intake design and a lower, angrier splitter. New side skirts run from wheel to wheel, the final piece being a rear bumper in three sculpted horizontal sections featuring a rear diffuser tucked between six rectangular exhaust tips. No engine mods have been made, but the technology part of the tune - springs that are 30 millimeters shorter yet still able to work with the PASM system - is claimed to make the car faster. Bringing things to a halt is a new Brembo brake system hiding behind 21-inch GForged wheels that are lighter than Porsche's standard 20-inchers. The Gemballa GT aero kit runs €19,860 ($26,070 U.S.), which includes paint and installation if you happen to be in Germany, and we're assuming that includes the suspension modification, brakes and sport exhaust. The GForged wheels are another €9,895 ($12,989 U.S.) depending on your choice of tire. I don't. Ford commissioned a survey through Penn Schoen Berlandalso and found that 64 percent of American drivers are driving less frequently to save on gasoline. As for those willing to lighten up on the gas pedal, 41 percent are slowing down to reduce fuel consumption and 10 percent say they draft behind larger vehicles to save fuel. This last one is a dangerous practice, though, and we can't recommend it. For the 59 percent who are not willing to slow down to save on gasoline consumption, Ford asks how about stop-start technology? The 2013 Ford Fusion is offering EcoBoost with Auto Start-Stop technology, along with EcoBoost only and hybrid and plug-in hybrid offerings. For those taking the survey, they're willing to pay more upfront for green products to save money over time, and Auto Start-Stop adds $295 to the purchase price. Ford calculates that if just 50,000 customers add the Auto Start-Stop option to their new Fusion, it would save more than 14 million pounds of CO2 emissions and nearly one million gallons of gasoline annually. And it's very easy to use, especially since it's always ready unless you tell it not to engage. When you stop at a red light, your engine shuts off. When you take your foot off the brake, it automatically starts up again smoothly. For a video of all this, see below. El Clio IV se venderá en Europa con los nuevos motores Energy tanto en gasolina como en diésel (destacando el nuevo 0.9 TCe de 90 CV en gasolina y el frugal 1.5 dCi de 90 CV en diésel). Things might finally be looking up for De Tomaso, however, according to Automotive News Europe. The Italian Industry Ministry is reportedly in continuing discussions with different potential buyers, and BMW is reportedly among the suitors. De Tomaso filed for bankruptcy earlier this year after selling the rights to build the grotesque Deauville sedan to a Chinese company in order to fund the next Pantera. BMW previously denied having any interest in the bankrupt automaker. Automotive News says the Italian Industry Ministry hopes to find a buyer and get the sale process kicked off sometime next month. A simple vista parece que se trata de un mero restyling del frontal del vehículo, ¿verdad? Pues no. Fíjate con cuidado en el pilar B y verás dónde se esconde el cambio de batalla del vehículo. Esta unidad cuenta con la nueva plataforma modular del Grupo VAG, la misma del nuevo Golf, empleando sus subchasis, la plancha inferior completa definitiva y el morro, pero engañando al personal con los paneles de carrocería del modelo actual. Not only that, it got in the 'Ring practically naked: all of its important bits are exposed, save for a little camo around the headlights and lower bumper. Based on the MQB platform that supports the recently introduced MkVII Golf, the small people mover's track and wheelbase have grown slightly - you can see where the current Touran body it wears has been given a little extra length, as well as wheel arches. The main event is up front, with a complete overhaul of the hood and front fascia that falls in line with the current corporate styling language. Since the Touran will benefit from the MQB's lighter platform, there's reason to expect that it'll be less hefty than the outgoing model. The new range of gasoline and diesel engines should slot underhood, and Auto Moto und Sport predicts that a 138-horsepower, 1.4-liter TSI with cylinder deactivation will be among those offered. Educated guesses pick the 2014 Touran's introduction to happen at next year's Geneva Motor Show or the Frankurt Motor Show. In its nine years and three generations we've never had the Touran on sale in the U.S. That's not really a surprise since small minivans are more of a Euro specialty. Se trata de una potente compañía dedicada a la logística, que no sólo trabaja para PSA, y que cuenta con una fuerte implantación en Europa, y un balance de cuentas postivio. El pasado mes de mayo contábamos aquí que había seis "novias" para tomar el control de este operador logístico, pero ahora parece que ya hay uno seleccionado definitivamente. Su nombre es OAO Russian Railways, que estaría dispuesto a ofrecer nada menos que 1.000 millones de euros para quedarse con el 75% del accionariado de Gefco. Esto cumpliría de sobras con los deseos de PSA, que espera conseguir liquidez con la venta para sanear las cuentas de sus operaciones automovilísticas, al tiempo que le permitiría conservar un 25% de control sobre el operador. OAO Russian Railways, que necesita autorización del gobierno ruso para completar la operación, se quedaría así con la compañía de transportes, que además de tener un contrato "de por vida" para encargarse de la logística de PSA, también cuenta desde hace meses con un acuerdo para llevar el tema de transporte de mercancías para las operaciones europeas de General Motors.
