Lo cierto es que la FOM y la FIA pidieron a los italianos que hicieran gomas "que dieran espectáculo" y lo que están consiguiendo es que hablemos aquí mal de ellas una de cada dos carreras. Este fin de semana vimos, en la sesión calificadora, cómo la lluvia "obligaba" a interrumpir el desarrollo por los problemas de los pilotos para poder rodar sobre un Silverstone que, es verdad, estaba muy encharcado. Sea como fuere, con los neumáticos de lluvia extrema hace un puñado de años (Barcelona 1996 es un buen ejemplo), se podía correr y se corría en condiciones similares o peores. Entonces, ¿por qué ahora no se hace? Según ha comunicado la familia de María de Villota, la piloto madrileña abandonó en la jornada de ayer la UCI, tras evolucionar positivamente de la segunda intervención que se le practicó para tratar las heridas producidas en el accidente del pasado martes con el Marussia MR-01. María ya no está sedada y ha sido trasladada a planta, donde se está despertando progresivamente. Ahora queda un importante paso, y es evaluar el alcance de las posibles secuelas que podrían quedarle tras el impacto en la cabeza, algo que sólo se puede considerar cuando la madrileña esté completamente despierta. Seguiremos informándoos de lo que vaya ocurriendo. Y nuevamente, una vez más, ánimo a María y sus familiares. As it turns out, our neighbors to the north are being bombarded with a new ad for the sexy Japanese sports car. The spot has all the makings of a winner. With an ear-catching siren, impressive visuals and plenty of slow-motion sideways action. Autoblog Canada was able to visit the set during filming. PR firm Tribal DDB rented a vacant skating rink just for the occasion and let loose a stuntman amidst the manufactured smoke for a little handbrake fun as the cameras rolled. Now, we have a slightly better idea of how costly. Better Cities, an Ithica, New York-based advocate for growth of mixed-use and more urban communities, commissioned the Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT) to do a study on the cost of sprawl in 20 U.S. metropolitan areas. CNT found that the difference in transportation costs can be as high as $10,000 a year, and those costs are rising with gas prices. Urban neighborhood dwellers spent about $1,400 a year more on transportation than they did a decade ago, while suburban folks spent about $4,000 a year more. Less than a year on and with nearly 100,000 sold, the automaker has introduced the N Box+, an evolution showcasing the additional possibilities of the microvan. Putting the "plus" in the N Box+ are the Universal Bridge and the Multi-space System. The former is an integrated aluminum loading ramp in the cargo floor that can be extended, U-Haul style, to ease loading. The latter is a set of panels that can break the cargo bay into different configurations, from shifting the height of the floor to creating a full-length bed once the two rows of seats are lowered. The N Box+ comes in all kinds of configurations and paint schemes, from ¥1,350,000 ($16,948 U.S.) for the front-wheel, naturally aspirated drive G trim, to ¥1,870,000 for the four-wheel-drive, two-tone G Package Turbo with with paddle shifters. All N Box+ models have 660cc engines (per kei car regulations) and a CVT. Obviamente, el video se centra en los modelos de la marca, pero aún así no deja de ser una buena muestra de lo particular que es este evento único en el mundo por su planteamiento, dado que tanto los pilotos y como las máquinas son accesibles al público. ¿Igualito que en la Fórmula 1, verdad? El propio Lord March, dueño del recinto y organizador del evento, nos da la bienvenida. Luego, varios de los pilotos que recorrerán el tramo de subida nos explican lo bien que se lo pasan y lo que representa para ellos el evento y los Mercedes históricos que van a pilotar. Uno de ellos es el propio Paul Stewart, hijo de Sir Jackie Stewart, al volante de un 300 SL "alas de gaviota" de la Carrera Panamericana. Su participación no es casual, pues él mismo posee un 300 SL de color negro restaurado de manera perfecta. Tras el salto podrás disfrutar de varios 300 SL, así como de las famosas flechas plateadas originales, un CLK GTR y algún que otro Grupo C de las 24 Horas de Le Mans.
