Sin embargo, las últimas noticias indican que la versión definitiva podría pasarse a una mecánica exclusivamente alimentada por baterías. Si Automobilwoche está en lo cierto, el E-Cell Plus se olvidará de su generador a gasolina, sustituido por un nuevo sistema propulsor desarrollado por Tesla Motors, como sabes, social de Daimler en el desarrollo de sistemas eléctricos. Según una fuente consultada por la publicación alemana, el motivo sería que los vehículos sin emisiones reciben mayores incentivos que los híbridos convencionales o de autonomía ampliada, lo que en teoría debería facilitar su aceptación. Insurance company Allstate has added "Watch for Motorcycles" signs at intersections in over 30 cities this year after studying which road markers may be most effective at helping prevent accidents. One of the signs is in Baltimore, MD at the intersection of Pratt and President Streets, near the city's Inner Harbor. Baltimore is notable because in 2010, the average age of a motorcyclist killed in a traffic accident there was 37 years old, the youngest of any major city and five years below the U.S. average. Overall, almost half of U.S. motorcycle accidents occur at intersections when cars don't see or fail to yield to an oncoming bike.Motorcycle fatalities have risen the last couple years despite total traffic deaths reaching the lowest point on record. An increase in alcohol-related crashes and untrained riders (higher gas prices got more people out of their cars) are given as the main reasons for the spike in motorcyclist deaths. Por eso, cuando vimos a este simpático y a la vez familiar Honda en el registro europeo de patentes nos preguntamos si no lo habíamos visto antes. Una rápida búsqueda en nuestros archivos nos sirvió para identificarlo como el N Concept 4 presentado en el Tokio 2011, pero con una serie de peculiaridades que indican que se trata de la versión que finalmente saldrá a la venta. Aunque su aparición en la base de datos de la OAMI no implica que vaya a comercializarse en Europa (lo más probable es que simplemente Honda está protegiendo su diseño), lo cierto es que no nos importaría poder echar un vistazo más de cerca a esta curiosa recreación en clave moderna del antiguo N600. Su mecánica, como buen kei, hará uso de un motor VTEC de 660 cc y 64 CV, buscando primero y ante todo ofrecer un medio de transporte limpio, frugal y económico, dado que además este tipo de vehículos cuentan con importantes ventajas fiscales en su Japón natal. En un principio el N Concept 4 debería salir a la venta este mismo año en el país del sol naciente. The great, wide state of Tennessee is looking to technology for relief. Around the state, at 26 DMV offices, the state's Department of Homeland Security has deployed 76 Apple iPads for drivers renewing their licenses. Being the creation of a government agency, the program gets its own acronym: ASSETS (automatic self service electronic terminals). Each iPad has proprietary apps installed that let drivers get their renewed licenses within minutes. They can also change their addresses and, in the near future, will be able to schedule road-test appointments. ASSETTS cost $79,200 and replaced old equipment already being replaced. While Tennessee residents won't be able to put the app on their own iPads, the same services are available online. Si eres un interesado en este modelo, te vendrá bien saber que lo puedes reservar desde este mismo mes de julio. Partiendo de la base del 335i (306 CV), BMW ha añadido un motor eléctrico con 54 CV de potencia adicionales, si bien el total combinado de ambos a pleno rendimiento es de 340 CV. Según declara BMW esta versión puede moverse hasta los 60 km/h sin que el motor de combustión tenga que trabajar. La batería está situada en el maletero y resta cierta capacidad dejando un volumen máximo de 390 litros. But it could soon have another claim to notoriety: The first Japanese auto plant to go union. According to Ward's Auto, Canadian Auto Workers President Ken Lewenza is bullish on efforts to organize the facility, which builds Honda Civic and CR-V, as well as the Acura MDX and ZDX. "We're getting some enthusiastic and strong support," he told Ward's, "but we're not there yet." Both the CAW and the United Auto Workers have been trying for decades to organize at one of the Japanese transplant factories, but have met resistance, both from employees as well as the automakers. Lewenza says Honda has devoted "resources and time into keeping the union out," according to the report, including giving employees a handout that the CAW feels misrepresents Honda's wages when compared to unionized Chrysler, Ford and General Motors plants in Canada. The report says labor talks between the CAW and the Big Three scheduled for September will be crucial for the union, given the resurgent strength of the Canadian dollar. Canada's labor costs are viewed as too high by the automakers, setting the stage for potential conflicts at the bargaining table. Esto es lo que le ha sucedido al Mazda MX-5 en su versión 2013 para Japón (allí conocido como Roadster), que luce nuevo frontal en uno de los catalogos del modelo. Como el MX-5 siempre ha funcionado muy bien, los chicos de Mazda no arriesgan demasiado en las actualizaciones. De ahí que haya que fijarse bien en los nuevos paragolpes y parrilla, más deportivos, y las ópticas antiniebla para darse cuenta de que algo ha cambiado. Desconocemos que habrá ocurrido en la trasera, pero es de suponer que sólo el paragolpes reciba modificaciones. ¿Será el momento para introducir la tecnología SKYACTIV? The most important element is "massive" investments in new products over a four year period. The division also plans to increase exports and cut materials and development costs. The Opel board said it expects to also see savings from GM's partnership with Peugeot-Cetroen. The board's press release was short on details about how the plan would work or how it would be implemented. Stephen Girsky, Vice-Chairman, General Motors and Chairman, Opel Supervisory Board, said in the statement, "The plan we approved today paves the way for Opel's strong future. Los chicos de Ingolstadt eligieron Alicante como base de operaciones, lo que nos condenó a un calor y una humedad sofocantes; no es el mejor lugar para probar unos coches cuyas baterías necesitan de ciertas temperaturas para un funcionamiento óptimo, pero el sol y los paisajes ayudaban a olvidar un poco esta problemática. Hoy empezamos con el más grande de todos, con el A8, nuestro resumen del contacto con esta gama híbrida, pero los primeros párrafos son comunes para todos los coches.
