En cuanto a los vehículos importados, siguen estando muy lejos en los totales debido a una elevada carga impositiva que imposibilita ajustar las tarifas a niveles parecidos a los nacionales. Pese a ello cada vez son más las firmas que tratan de hacerse un hueco en este país. | Posted: 10 Jun 2012 05:28 PM PDT  SRT Viper GTS-R completes first track test [w/video] This week, the new SRT Viper GTS-R hit the racetrack for the very first time at Carolina Motorsports Park, in the wake of its surprise unveiling at the New York Auto Show in April. According to the SRT Motorsports team in attendance, the shakedown run was an overwhelming success with the car performing better than expected. "To basically build that car, start it up the first time like the day before and have it run around the whole day and do everything it was supposed to do was a huge achievement," said Gary Johnson, SRT Motorsports road racing manager. SRT still has plenty of work ahead of it, though, as several more track tests are needed before the Viper GTS-R makes its ALMS competition debut later this season. At that point, the race Viper will have its hands full with the rest of the competitive GT field. It's not as if the guys from Corvette, BMW, Porsche, Ferrari and Aston Martin are going to give the newcomer a break. This, however, arrives as a welcome surprise. The marque's arrival here was originally supposed to be spearheaded by the 8C Competizione, but that sumptuous model came and went, and we're back to an Alfa-free market. Later re-strategization put the upcoming 4C in the same position, establishing a beachhead for the arrival of a broader (read: more accessible and versatile) range of Alfa models. Now an Autocar report suggests the 4C may be ready earlier than expected. The carbon-intensive, mid-engined sports car made its debut in concept form at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and was expected to bow in production trim at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, but is now tipped to debut in about a year from now (next summer) - a good half-year ahead of schedule. That's what the London's Telegraph newspaper is suggesting, asking if incentivizing people to drive green can be too effective. UK ministers are talking about revoking some of the tax incentives created to encourage people to buy advanced-powertrain vehicles because more people are taking the government up on the prospect than expected. With higher-than-expected purchases of fuel sippers, hybrids and EVs, the government may find itself in a financial shortfall stemming from the incentives, according to the publication, which, unsurprisingly took a position against the revocation of such incentives. Any incentives cost the government money and are sometimes shut down, but over the long-term, these sorts of petroleum-use-reduction projects can help us save money. Filed under: Ford, Lamborghini, Cupés, Deportivos Uno es un fino estilista con un sofisticado chasis de fibra de carbono y los últimos avances de la técnica codificados en sus genes, el otro, un antiguo rudo fajador con la nariz rota una docena de veces y obligado a complementar su pensión trabajando como portero de discoteca. Cualquier comparación entre ellos es imposible, y por eso mismo, el último vídeo de Roadkill resulta tan ensimismante. El programa "gamberro" de la revista estadounidense MotorTrend no ha tenido otra cosa mejor que hacer para su último episodio que enfrentar a un Lamborghini Aventador con un Ford Model A de 1930 recortado al estilo rat-rod. La misión no era comprobar cuál corría más (de hecho no recuerdo que hayan dicho la potencia del motor V8 del rat), sino ver cuál de los dos coches, tan extremos y al mismo tiempo tan distintos, resultaba más satisfactorio al cabo de 24 horas. Vamos a dejarlo en que el Ford tiene algunos problemas con las rampas. Y con la refrigeración. Y con el sonido. Y con... básicamente todo. Pero no veas cómo suena el cacharro. An unidentified party close to the details told the Detroit News that a spread of 240 basis points was being considered initially, and Ford's last sale of five-year notes offered an even wider spread of nearly 120 basis points above the performance of this sale.
