Llega con la intención de conquistar al público gracias a las múltiples posibilidades de personalización. Estéticamente los cambios no son especialmente grandes aunque se nota que han tratado de disimular su diseño veterano con ciertos rasgos de estilo vistos en el Clio IV, como la parrilla y los paragolpes más envolventes. La principal novedad del modelo está en su gran oferta de adhesivos y combinación de colores que permiten hasta 2.000 unidades completamente distintas. Como opción de acceso a la oferta de Renault puede resultar interesante, aunque no evoluciona en exceso en cuanto a seguridad o la modernidad de sus motores. According to Bloomberg, Subaru is looking into expanding production capacity at its Lafayette, Indiana assembly plant, which currently builds the Outback, Legacy and Tribeca as well as the Toyota Camry. Subaru's Indiana plant currently has an annual maximum capacity of 310,000 units, but the automaker is expecting to far exceed that figure this year, with year-to-date sales of 299,788 units through November (not including Camry) - an increase of almost 30 percent over 2011. Beating last year's best-ever total of 645,691, Hyundai's record-setting numbers are up eight percent through November, and it has broken monthly sales records in every month so far this year excluding June and October, which includes an all-time monthly record set in March of 69,728 units. Helping to improve Hyundai's sales this year, new models like the Veloster and Azera have posted massive increases over 2011, while the Accent, Elantra and Tucson have all seen pretty big gains, too. Impressively, French artist Bernar Venet has managed to combine these two notions in one dramatic special edition model: the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Venet. Venet, whose works can be found everywhere from New Zealand to Versailles, confessed that he initially thought it unnecessary to alter what he already considered a work of art. The French painter and sculptor drew inspiration from Bugatti's engineering equations that led to the development of the Veyron. The numbers and functions were placed on the bodywork in such away that it appears they are being blown off the Grand Sport as it drives at speed. These equations are also stitched into the interior, and the finishing touches come in small replicas of Vanet's works on the oil cap, filler cap and the center console. The Bugatti Grand Sport Venet will be on display at the Rubell Family collection during Art Basel Miami Beach, which runs through December 9. This week, a silver 2013 Accord EX-L sedan earmarked for South Korea rolled off the line, making it the one-millionth vehicle Honda has exported from the US over the last 25 years. More importantly, Honda also announced that by 2014, it plans to export more cars from the US than it imports from Japan. Starting with the very first Honda exported to Taiwan from Ohio in 1987, the automaker has exported more than $22-billion worth of vehicles and vehicle parts, with 1994 standing as a record year in which 105,511 vehicles were shipped out. This year, Honda and Acura have 11 models that are exported out of the US accounting for almost 100,000 units shipped to more than 40 countries. With a goal of increasing production capacity from 1.63 million units up to 1.92 million units by 2014, Honda expects to "far surpass" its 1994 export record. Y casualmente, al mismo tiempo, BMW está preparando un restyling para el Serie 1. Hay que reconocerlo, el actual Serie 1 (F20) recibió duras críticas en su presentación acerca de su estética. Críticas que se centraban sobre todo en su frontal. La realidad es que el frontal no es su mejor ángulo. De las fotos espía se deduce que los faros serán más pequeños y más estrechos, al estilo del recién desvelado Serie 4 Coupé. La zaga no debería experimentar grandes cambios, únicamente algunos detalles de los pilotos y del parachoques serán cambiados. El nuevo Serie 1 debería estar listo a lo largo de 2013, poco antes o después de la presentación del Serie 2 Coupé y Cabrio. New emission rules, which would still have to be approved by Mayor Boris Johnson, would cut congestion-exempt vehicle-emissions limits by about 25 percent, leaving only electric vehicles and a few hybrids below that threshold. Currently, there are about 19,000 mostly small-diesel-engined vehicles in the city who don't have to pay the daily charge of 10 British pounds ($16). Such a move would boost congestion-charge revenue, which totals about 169 million pounds ($271 million) a year, and may help plug-in vehicle sales as well. General Motors affiliate Vauxhall has sold only 450 Amperas (the Chevrolet Volt sister vehicle) despite the fact that the model won the European Car of the Year award earlier this year. In July, Transport for London reported that deadbeat drivers owned about $270 million in late congestion-fee charges. BMW said that only 54 of these cars will be produced starting in February, but it did not say in which markets the car will be available. Included in the car's 99,000 euro (about $130,000 in the States) price is the chance to attend the BMW M Fascination Nordschleife driver training course at the Nürburgring. Designed to look like and celebrate the Team Schnitzer BMW DTM racecar driven by Canadian Bruno Spengler in the 2012 season, the M3 DTM Champion Edition comes exclusively in a Frozen Black metallic paint with matte black wheels and BMW's M stripes running across the carbon roof and decklid. There are fender and rear-quarter-window decals to give it an authentic racecar look. Inside additions include door sill elements that replicate Spengler's helmet design, and his signature and the car's sequence number can be found on the instrument panel's carbon fiber trim. See, you have plenty of livable space on the boat, but said boat is up on a trailer, thus one must either tow one's craft with a large RV or stay in hotels. The owner of this... thing evidently thought that was too wasteful in the name of epic leisure. As such, you see the incredible contraption in front of you. The vehicle(s) is/are a 1987 Watercraft Sports King Boater Home. The cab consists of a 1986 Ford E-Series, while the rear is a 28-foot power boat that contains living quarters for both land and water use. There are several like this out on eBay Motors and elsewhere on the web. A quick search for "BoaterHome" will yield plenty of results, though none have been done up quite like this one. With a teardrop window on the cab section and a paint job that would make the Duke Boys blush, this thing is apparently set on celebrating the '70s. That would likely explain the "35" on the side, representing the 35th anniversary of, well...we're not quite sure. The city approved a ballot measure that would free up about $62.5 million in local funding by way of property-tax assessments on land parcels on or near the proposed line, which would run about four miles through various downtown districts. That would provide about half the funding needed to get the line up and running, the L.A. Weekly said, citing the nonprofit L.A. Streetcar Inc. If all goes well (but let's face it, this is a public project, so all rarely goes well), construction may begin as soon as 2014 with an opening date sometime in 2016. LA's old Pacific Electric "Red Car" system was the world's largest of its kind in the 1920s and once had 900 electric trollies using more than 1,100 miles of track throughout Southern California. Fiat tiene actualmente el 58,5% de Chrysler y una opción de compra de un 16,4% más del capital durante tres años a un precio que fue calculado mediante una fórmula ideada cuando Chrysler estaba en bancarrota. Ahora se ha sabido que se ha interpuesto una querella en un juzgado de Delaware acerca del precio acordado según esa fórmula. La demanda emana de VEBA. Fiat está dispuesta a pagar 754 millones de dólares, mientras que VEBA estima que deberían ser 1.700 millones de dólares. Fiat, que confiaba en finalizar la operación antes de que acabase el año, tendrá que esperar a que dictamine un juez a qué precio se debe hacer la operación. A no ser que las dos partes lleguen a un acuerdo, claro. Fiat quiere las acciones de VEBA y VEBA el cash de Fiat. De momento, sólo compra Fiat. Pero el 1 de enero esa situación cambiará, pues el periodo de tres años concedido a Fiat para su opción de compra finaliza y VEBA podría venderlo a otro comprador o incluso a precio de mercado, pues ese 16,4& de las acciones volverían a cotizar en bolsa. Algunos analistas consideran que el precio bajo ofrecido por Fiat es una acción deliberada para tirar hacia bajo los precios en las futuras negociaciones. Al fin y al cabo, es como cuando en un mercadillo regateas el precio de un cachivache. Salvo que aquí, VEBA se juega las pensiones de los jubilados de Chrysler y Fiat su futuro, pues necesita la rentable Chrysler para aguantar en Europa hasta que pase la dichosa crisis. The Ram unseats the Ford F-150 pickup from Truck of the Year with a package that the magazine argues fulfills owners' needs for everyday usability as much as worksite utility. MT points out that the 1500's available air suspension is a quantum leap in the light-duty pickup segment. This system can raise for more ground clearance or lower for highway driving. Chrysler has been pushing for friendly daily-driver manners for some time now - you'll recall it debuted coils in place of rear leaf springs in the 2009 Ram 1500, back when it the truck was sold under the Dodge nameplate. The new optional air setup is another step towards more comfortable everyday driving. The Ram 1500 can also be paired with the company's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 in place of the loveless 3.7-liter unit, in the process getting some pretty surprising fuel economy figures. MT also notes that the interior update - complete with available Uconnect 8.3-inch screen and new rotary shifter - is a welcome upgrade. Filed under: Government/Legal, Suzuki, Earnings/Financials American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC), which declared bankruptcy in early November, has been approved by the courts for up to $100 million in debtor-in-possession financing to enable it to shutter its US car business. ASMC had received a $45 million loan from the Japanese parent company, Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC), last month in order to make repayment deals with its franchise dealers. At the same time, ASMC was awaiting final court approval of this larger loan. Out of the newly approved funds, $50 million can be used for operations, and oddly, the other $50 million can be put toward purchases of new inventory from SMC. That's right, even as existing inventory was headed for a smooth exit with the help of incentives, customer demand for orphan Suzuki models is so strong - last month's sales were up 22 percent compared to 2011 - that ASMC plans to purchase 2,500 additional cars from SMC that were built after the bankruptcy announcement. Good news for the owners of those vehicles: the top 50 dealers, representing more than 98 percent of ASMC sales, will become parts and services centers. The press release below has more information.
