Y lo consiguieron. Si pinchas el recorte de la derecha verás nuevas imágenes del deportivo italiano, donde se ve la trasera del aparato, y sus dos minúsculas salidas de escape (que quedarán adornadas por unas grandes colas en el modelo de producción). Mirando atentamente, apenas encontramos detalles diferenciadores del prototipo original, si bien es cierto que parece que el capó contará con dos pequeñas salidas de aire a los lados. The racing Gallardo has been revised for the 2013 season, with a new rear wing and diffuser, new wheel arches and a different livery (the Blancpain collateral is still in full effect, of course). Specification of the new car was not disclosed by Lamborghini, but expectations are that the same 570-horsepower V10 is delivering power to all four wheels. As a refresher, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo is a series that sees drivers competing in identical Gallardo racecars. 2012 saw a six-race series take place in Europe, and for the first time, Asia. The most ringing endorsement of this conjecture comes today from General Motors Europe, as the new Opel Cascada has debuted on the interwebs. Opel calls the four-passenger Cascada an "athletic, glamorous midsize convertible." With a length of 4,697mm (185 in.), the Cascada is as long as an Audi A5, to which GM has said it would be slightly larger. The Cascada, which is Spanish for waterfall, features a cloth convertible top that retracts in 17 seconds and at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph). The Cascada features a 1.4-liter turbo gas engine, 2.0-liter turbodiesel with 165 horsepower and a range-topping 1.6-liter turbocharged Ecotec engine that puts out 170 horsepower and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft). Power is sent through either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. According to GM, the Cascada will also come rife with luxury and tech features. In addition to adaptive forward lighting and ergonomic heated front seats, the convertible will feature Opel Eye, which is a front camera that can recognize traffic signs and incorporates lane departure warning and forward collision alert. Given GM's propensity for re-badging Opels as Buicks, it's not far out of the realm of possibility that we could see this vehicle Stateside wearing a Buick badge. Posted: 17 Oct 2012 04:08 PM PDT Official: Nissan previews production steer-by-wire system Filed under: Safety, Technology, Infiniti, Nissan With as far electric power assist steering (EPAS) has come in recent years, it was only a matter of time before an automaker came up with a fully electric steering system. Nissan has developed such a system that replaces the mechanical steering linkage of today's cars with a "wired" steering column that uses drivers inputs to steer the front wheels via electronic controllers, and this type of system could be found on Infiniti models within the next year. This type of system could be found on Infiniti models within the next year. As bad as the feedback is on some current EPAS cars, we're a little skeptical about how such a system would feel, but Nissan says that not only will feedback be more direct, it will also be adjustable. Nissan's independent control steering technology will allow drivers to choose between "Sport" and "Standard" modes depending on what type of roads and driving condition they face. An added benefit of this system is that the steering wheel will be completely isolated from the rest of the steering system to reduce road vibrations felt by the driver. In the event of power loss, there is a clutch that can engage a backup mechanical link to allow the driver to control the front wheels. This system also uses a camera to help keep the car driving in a straight line, meaning that drivers won't have to make constant small corrections, which Nissan says will reduce driver fatigue, and it can also auto correct in the event of crosswinds. As a safety precaution, Nissan's new steering system uses three redundant engine controllers to prevent any loss of steering, but in the event that the car loses total power, there is a clutch that can engage a backup mechanical link to allow the driver to control the front wheels. Nissan is also working on an autonomous emergency steering system that seems to operate in the same vain as auto brake in some newer cars. If the car detects a possible collision, it will initially warn the driver with an audible tone and display. If this is ignored, it will then proceed to auto brake in an attempt to slow the car down. If a collision is still imminent, the car would then automatically swerve to avoid an accident. Electric-vehicle charging-station maker AeroVironment unveiled a version of its EVSE-RS home charger that lessens the need for hardware and can plug directly into a 240-volt outlet. More importantly, the 10-pound (without cables) charger can be lugged around. That means EV drivers can bring the chargers with them on weekend jaunts, provided that they have access to another 240-volt outlet. The two fragments we get seem to show a look, sleek sports coupe or hatch with multiple openings in the lower front and behind the front fender. In back, the hint of a Veloster-like glass hatch is evident above wildly-styled taillights. It's fun to imagine a small, sporty alternative to the Juke, but alas, keeping in mind the venue where it is to be unveiled, we expect a more pedestrian vehicle with economy, not handling, in mind. In a press release (available below), Nissan's Senior VP and Chief Creative Officer Shiro Nakamura says the concept will "dazzle." "It is a genuinely new and exciting concept, and it will explode with energetic design and impressive color that fully express our impression toward the country." La oferta del 207+ terminará sustituyendo al veterano 206+, pero al menos durante lo que queda de año compartirán escenario. El 207+ se podrá adquirir con los motores 1.4 HDI de 70 CV y el 1.4i de 75 CV. De serie incluyen el aire acondicionado, control de velocidad y equipo de sonido integrado, además de la dirección asistida y el paquete eléctrico. Al menos en el mercado francés los precios serán muy competitivos. Con los descuentos aplicados, el 207+ 1.4i 75 CV estará disponible desde 8.990 €. Now a man can skydive from 128,000 feet above the Earth and pretty soon Wal-Mart will stock space flight suits next to the wicker outdoor furniture. Car Fox, the cunning Canidae who likes to pretend he's as good as Carfax, decided to follow skydiver Felix Baumgartner's lead. Taking off from Lima, Montana, the stuffed mascot made it to 88,436 feet before the gas-filled bubble burst and he returned to Hamer, Idaho, 50 miles away. What's the point of sending a stuffed animal 17 miles into the stratosphere? Because it only takes a few guys in a parking lot in Montana and some GoPros to do it. Already an outcast because of its odd shape, the experimental prototype was unceremoniously ran off the road in its inaugural outing last June during the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It's followup to that unfinished effort is supposed to be this weekend's Petit Le Mans race, the season finale of the American Le Mans Series in which the DeltaWing will be participating next year. But word from the Twitterverse is that the DeltaWing has crashed again, this time during testing for the big race at Road Atlanta. The official tweet from the DeltaWing team reads as follows. Incident at @RoadAtlanta. GTC Porsche made contact with @gunnarjeannette who got upside down. Gunnar is ok. Car report to follow. #ALMS Gunnar Jeannette was behind the wheel at the time of contact with the unidentified GTC Porsche and, as the tweet indicates, is "ok." Fellow series driver Bruno Junqueira, however, tweeted the above pic of the damage, which, without the context of video, looks pretty severe. There's been no official word yet from the DeltaWing team or Nissan about what happens next, specifically whether or not the car can be repaired in time for this weekend's race or there's another one waiting in the wings. Those slowpokes may want to stay off California highways altogether this Friday. That's because Tesla Motors has declared October 19 as "Supercharging Day," when the electric-vehicle maker's first six fast chargers will be opened to the public, according to Hybrid Cars. Tesla announced the news via an e-mail to car owners. The company's Superchargers, which fact charge at 90 kW and 440 volts, can put 150 miles into a top-of-the-line Model S 85-kWh battery in about a half-hour, or about as long as it takes from a Model S driven by a deranged owner to get from Palo Alto to San Francisco. Posted: 17 Oct 2012 02:02 PM PDT Official: Nissan Juke R ready for first delivery [w/video] Filed under: Performance, Europe, Crossover, Nissan We haven't heard much about the Nissan Juke-R since the hyper-performance crossover was confirmed for production, but with the first example on its way to a very wealthy customer, Nissan has given us a look at Juke-R No. 001. This GT-R in a Juke's skin was originally built as a one-off concept vehicle, and now this white Juke-R is the first of only a "handful" of models that Nissan is planning to build. As expected, the production version of the souped-up Juke is a bit more powerful than the concept version displayed earlier this year. Using the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 from the 2013 GT-R, the Juke-R will be rated at the same 545 horsepower rather than the 480 hp the Juke-R Concept had with the 2012 GT-R mill under the hood. Nissan says this will give the Juke-R a top speed of 170 miles per hour with the ability to accelerate from 0-60 mph in under three seconds. This is the first time we've seen live images of the Juke-R in white, and the lighter coloring helps show off a few of the changes Nissan made to the exterior design. After announcing that the supercrossover would be built, Nissan looked to its European design team to fine tune the Juke-R's styling. These changes include slight tweaks being made to the front and rear fascias, redesigned side sills and wheels grabbed from the 2013 GT-R. Nissan did announce the starting price of 400,000 euros (close to $521,000), but for those of us who can't afford this kind of money, the Juke-R will be in a new mobile game called Asphalt 7: Heat available on iPhone and Android devices. A finales de la primavera, algunas voces críticas denunciaban el importante número de automatriculaciones que se venían realizando en Alemania. Y ahora es prácticamente oficial, el mercado alemán está sucumbiendo a la bajada de las ventas, lo que lleva algunas marcas a ofrecer importantes descuentos.Mercedes-Benz ofrece a sus clientes 3.000 euros de descuento, es decir, la misma cantidad que está ofreciendo Renault para el Mégane en Alemania. Opel y Ford ofrecen una media de 3.500 euros de descuento en su gama. El caso de Mercedes es significativo, no es una marca que acostumbre a ofrecer grandes descuentos. Pero está vez se atreven porque sus ventas han caído algo más de un 12% en Alemania. La ACEA ha revisado sus previsiones para 2013 y prevé que el mercado se contraerá entre un 8 y un 10%. Si no fuese por la relativa buena salud del mercado británico, que lleva 9 meses de crecimiento continuo, en 2013 podríamos volver a un mercado similar al de 1995.
